The Broken Crown Relay

This energetic princess game challenges children to restore magical crowns by matching the correct pieces together. It blends running, memory, and teamwork while staying completely on theme.


What You'll Need

  • Print out of Crowns/Tiaras and cut in half (2 sets)

  • 2 Poster Boards (to mount the crowns)

  • Open play space (grass, gym floor, driveway, or playroom)

  • Cones or tape to mark the starting area

Set Up

  1. Prepare to poster boards. Attach half-crowns to each board (number them for older kids)

  2. Divide the players into two teams, giving each team the matching crown halves.

  3. Place boards about 20 feet from the starting line

  4. Only one crown piece can be carried at a time..

How to Play

Option 1: Royal Strategy Relay (Best for Older Kids)

  • Kids must complete the crowns in number order

  • One players runs to the board, studies crown number 1, runs back, finds the match, and runs back to attach it to the board.

  • Continue until all crowns are completed in the correct order

Option 2:Royal Teamwork Crossing (Best for Younger Kids)

  • Kids can complete crowns in any order.

  • One player grabs a piece, runs to the board, and matches it to complete the crown

  • Repeat until all crowns are finished.

  • Remind them to grab just one piece at a time
