Turn your backyard or home into a magical kingdom with this Royal Treasure Hunt for kids. Children follow enchanted clues around the house or yard until they discover the hidden royal treausure.

Step by Step Setup

• Choose 8–10 locations around your house or yard (table, couch, garden, bookshelf, etc.).

• Print the clue page or write your clues on small pieces of paper.

• Hide the first clue where children will begin the game.

• Each clue should lead to the next location where another clue is hidden.

• The final clue should lead to a treasure or prize for the children to find.

**Bonus Ending:

Bury the treasure, and leave some mini shovels or spoons so kids can dig the treasure up. My parents did this for our group as a kid, and to this day, the box full of nickels seemed magical!

Bonus Treasure: Confetti Wands for everyone and once they find the treasure everyone gets a confetti wand to spread confetti throughout the kindgom.

How to Play

  1. Give the children the first clue.

  2. They solve the clue and run to the location it describes.

  3. At that location they find the next clue.

  4. Continue following the clues around the yard or house.

  5. The final clue leads them to the royal treasure.

    A Bit More Fun: For extra excitement, divide the kids into two team and let them race through the clues. Use color-coded clue sets and place them in different orders so team visit different spots. Both teams can end at the same treasure or separate ones so everyone wins.
