Quick Party Snapshot:

Movement/Listening Game

Age: 3+

Time: 10 minutes

Competitive: Non-Competitive

Optional: "out" version for older kids.

How to Play

  1. Tell kids they are trains traveling on the tracks.

  2. Start the music—kids move around “chugging” like trains (arms pumping, “choo choo!” sounds).

  3. When the music stops OR the conductor blows the whistle…
    👉 EVERYONE must FREEZE instantly!

  4. Anyone who moves after freezing:

    • Gets a friendly reminder (non-competitive), OR

    • Is “out” for one round (competitive version).

  5. Start music again and repeat!

Train Freeze Dance

All aboard! Kids become moving trains—chugging along until the conductor calls “FREEZE!”… or risk a train crash!

Optional Train Twists

Train Line Version (SO cute for photos)

  • Kids hold onto each other’s shoulders to form a train

  • The whole train must freeze together

  • If one moves… the whole train “derails”

Conductor Leader Version

  • One child is the conductor

  • They control stop/go using a whistle or voice

    Track Challenge

  • Use cones or tape to make tracks

  • Kids must stay on the track while moving

  • Adds just enough structure without stress

    Cargo Freeze

  • Give kids pretend “cargo” (beanbags, small toys)

  • They must freeze without dropping it

Welcome to the busiest railway in the land!
Trains travel fast and carry precious cargo—but when the conductor blows the whistle, every train must stop instantly to avoid a crash on the tracks. Your engineers must learn to move quickly… and freeze even faster to keep the railway running safely!
