What You'll Need

How to Set Up the Hunt

  1. Choose 6–8 locations around your home or yard.

  2. Print picture cards that represent each location.

  3. Each clue should lead to the next location where another clue is hidden

  4. The final picture should lead to the dino treasure prize.

  5. Give the children the first picture clue and let them begin the adventure.

A Bit More Fun: For extra excitement, divide the kids into two team and let them race through the clues. Use color-coded clue sets and place them in different orders so team visit different spots. Both teams can end at the same treasure or separate ones so everyone wins.

How to Play

  1. Show the children the first picture clue.

  2. They figure out what the picture represents.

  3. They run to that location to find the next picture card.

  4. Continue until they reach the final treasure.

    **Bonus Ending:

Bury the treasure, and leave some mini shovels or spoons so kids can dig the treasure up. My parents did this for our group as a kid, and to this day, the box full of nickels seemed magical!

Optional Story Introduction
