Treasure Book Craft Station Setup

This train craft station feels extra special because the books can be decorated to look like old railroad keepsakes, conductor journals, or station treasures—but when opened, they reveal a hidden compartment inside for storing tiny train-themed treasures and party finds.

  1. Place one blank white faux book at each seat.

  2. Set out cups of acrylic paint markers, train stickers, railroad stickers, and alphabet stickers in the center of the table.

  3. Encourage kids to decorate the front cover with train drawings, railroad signs, ticket designs, their name, or titles like “My Train Treasure Book,” “Birthday Junction Express,” or “Conductor’s Keepsakes.”

  4. Remind kids to decorate the spine too, so it looks like a real special train book sitting on a shelf.

  5. When finished, kids can use the hidden compartment inside to store train tickets, mini treasures, toy train pieces, charms, coins, and other railroad goodies from the party.

Optional extra: Add a small treasure table nearby where kids can pick a few tiny train-themed items to place inside their book before taking it home.
