Quick and Easy Dinosaur Naming Ceremony
Turn This Into a Full Activity:
Prepare two bowls or containers before guests arrive:
Container 1 hold slips of paper featuring names such as Rocky, Thunder, Spike, Tiny, Boulder, Shadow, Blaze, Crusher, Stomp, Fang, Claw, Rex, Nova, Ember, Storm
Container 2 holds slips of paper featuring names likes -saurus, -raptor, -dactyl, -rex, -norn, -crusher, -tooth, -fang, -claw, -spike, -scale, -tail, -strike, -storm,
Each child picks one slip from each container to create their full dinosaur name (example: Thunder-Rex, or Tiny-Dactyl)
Have them announce theirname with a big dino roar before joining the party.
*Do this quickly as kids arrive or turn this into an immersive, story-driven celebration with each guest being introduced as an official dinosaur. Kids love stepping into a role. Children take turns drawing their names while everyone watches. This builds excitement and anticipation, as kids enjoy hearing the names their friends receive. Works best for smaller groups.

Each dinosaur name is created using two elements:
The month they were born
The first letter of their name
When combined on the chart, these reveal each child's official dinosaur name to stomp around with!

Optional Dino Fun: Once all guests have their Dino Names, formally introduce each Dino aloud. Call out their dino name and invite them to step forward into the circle.
