Supplies You'll Need

• Sandbox, Sand table, kiddie pool or tarp

• Play Sand

  Small treasures such as

• fossil shark teeth, mini dinosaur skeletons, break-your-own-geodes, dino excavation eggs, gold coins, dino chomper eggs, gold vase filler, pyrite, polished stones, 2lb assorted fossils

• Small bags/burlap poutch

• Optional: large gem

Station Setup

1. Create your digging area using a sandbox, sand table, kiddie pool, or tarp with play sand poured on top.

2. Scatter treasures throughout the sand, mixing different types of fossils, rocks, mini dinosaurs, trinkets.

3. Optional: Hide one large mystery treasure deeper in the sand if using a larger digging space.

4. Place small bags nearby so children can collect and keep their treasures.

5. Decide how you'd like to run the activity:

   • Rotating Groups: Half the kids dig while the others play another game, then switch.

   • Open Exploration: Leave the treasure dig available throughout the party so kids can come and go freely.
